A note from our owner, Mark:
When Shawna and I opened Tsawwassen Hearing Centre in 2013, we wanted to build something personal—a place where people felt truly cared for, not just treated. A clinic rooted in community, relationships, and trust.
Before opening our doors here, I spent more than a decade working alongside my father, Larry, at his hearing clinic in Abbotsford. He had many years of experience and taught me the importance of hands-on care, attention to detail, and always putting the client first. That time shaped my approach to hearing care and continues to influence how we do things at Tsawwassen Hearing Centre.
In 2013, we were one of the only hearing clinics in Tsawwassen. Within a year, several others had arrived, but we focused on what we knew best: offering honest advice, excellent service, and genuine care. That foundation helped us grow, one relationship at a time.
Vicki, our first office administrator, joined us in 2014 and quickly became an essential part of the team. Between 2015 and 2019, Shawna and I welcomed three children—Andrew, Matthew, and Emma—and while Shawna stepped back from the clinic day-to-day, she has continued to support the business through her work in marketing and communications.
In 2020, Darlene joined our front desk, followed by Wendy in 2022 as Vicki began transitioning into a well-earned semi-retirement. Most recently, in 2024, we welcomed Kris as our second clinician—an exciting step forward for our growing team.
We’re proud to be a locally owned, independent clinic. That independence allows us to work with all major hearing aid manufacturers and recommend what’s truly best for each client, without pressure or limitations. We take the time to listen, understand your needs, and work with you to find the right solution, even if it takes a little longer.
We also believe that hearing care should be accessible. A few times each year, we partner with manufacturers to offer ultra low-cost hearing aids for those in need. If cost is a concern for you or someone you know, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll always try to help.
If you're thinking about a hearing check, or simply have questions, we’d love to meet you. Drop by the clinic, stay for a coffee, and experience what personalized, community-based hearing care can feel like.
Warmly,
Mark Nickel
